Cocoa Butter
Theobroma cacao
Pure cocoa butter is excellent
for chapped skin and preventing stretch marks. Pressed from cocoa beans
as a by-product of chocolate making, its slight chocolate scent adds a
richness to anything you make with it. Cocoa butter protects the skin with
its ability to hold moisture to the skin. It's a very good skin softener.
Makes a great moisturizing addition to any handmade soap and is wonderful
used in lotion bars.

Mango Butter
Mangifera indica
Mango butter comes from
the kernels of the mango tree. Its high content of stearic acid makes it
similar to cocoa butter with good emolliency. It also protects a bit against
the sun's effects. Because it reduces degeneration of skin cells and restores
flexibility, mango butter helps prevent drying of the skin and formation
of wrinkles. Often used in hand creams and overnight creams.

Shea Nut Butter
Butyrospermum parkii
A natural fat obtained from
a nut-like fruit of the African Karite tree, shea butter makes an excellent
ointment base. African healers have used it for centuries for dry and aging
skin. Rich in Linoleic Acid, shea has an unusally high content of oil unsaponifiable
matter (up to 17 percent) far exceeding that of cocoa butter. This aids
in its ability to moisturize and retain the elasticity of the skin, as
well as its ability to protect the skin from the sun and help to ease superficial
skin irritation. Shea butter melts at body temperature, has good spreadability
and enhances shine.

Lavender Rose Better Body Butter
One girlfriend of mine goes
wild for my Lavender Rose Crème. But with no preservatives, it must
be used up rather quickly. When she tried this body butter, she was won
over by how nice her skin felt and how pretty the scent made her feel.
Made with essential oils of Lavendula angustifolia and Rosa damascena,
this is almost a light perfume. Remember, a little goes a long way, so
use sparingly.

Patchouli Orange Better Body Butter
Same formula as our Lavender
Rose BBB, but made with essential oils of Pogestemon cablim and Citrus
sinensis. An earthier, yet somewhat citrusy scent for those want the luxury
without the flowers. Remember, a little goes a long way, so use sparingly.

Triple Butter Delight
Three skin-healing butters
in one jar: shea, cocoa and mango butters. Use for dry skin, as a hair
pomade and as a moisturerizer for massage. While strictly speaking this
product is unscented, the cocoa butter naturally lends a slight chocolate
scent. So richly luxurious, we suggest you use sparingly.
